Mary Lee Conner Abernethy, 94, of Midland, passed away June 3, 2010, at Carolinas Medical Center NorthEast, in Concord.
Mrs. Abernethy was born August 24, 1915, in Cabarrus County. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Lee Abernethy in 1982; daughter, Jo Ann Abernethy in 1993; father, Walter Nathan Conner; and mother, Mary Maxwell McEachern.
She was a retired state employee as the cafeteria manager at Bethel School 30 years and a member of W.S.C.S. at Bethel Church.
Visitation will be Saturday, 10:00 – 11:00 a.m., at Bethel United Methodist Church where she was a lifetime member. The funeral will follow at 11:00, officiated by Rev. Mark Clontz. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Survivors include Charles Wes Abernethy and wife, Ree of Midland; daughter, Patti Merrington and husband, Linnie, of Concord; sister, Anna Mae Dixon and husband, Weston, of Charlotte; grandchildren, Mecca Walters of Lancaster, SC, Leigh Ann Berlian and husband, J. P. of France, Chuck Abernethy of Lancaster, SC, Jeff and David Merrington of Concord; great-grandchildren Megan Johnson and B. J. Walters of Lancaster, SC; great great-grandchildren, Olyvia Walters, Kaydence Johnson and Noel Johnson.
