Born February 23, 1933 in Philadelphia, Pa., he was a son of the late William Gray and Hazel Rhine Alexander.
He retired as a Lt Colonel with the United States Air Force budget. He was a veteran of Vietnam war and received a bronze star.
He was a member of the Hopewell United Methodist Church, Newburg and their aduly Sunday School class.
He was a 1951 graduate of Metal High School and a 1955 graduate of Gettysburg CollegeHe is survived by his wife, Nancy J. Hoover Alexander; son John G. and wife Sandra of Newburg; five grandchildren, Hannah, Jessica, Emily, Melissa and Sean Alexander and a daughter-in-law Sarah Alexander of Falls Church, Virginia. He was preceded in death by a son, Frank J. Alexander on August 14, 2008.
