Harold H. Akers, 49, of 65 South Dixie, Vandalia, Ohio died in Strouder Memorial Hospital, Troy, Ohio, from a blood disease. He had been ill since May and had undergone a spinal operation. He was a native of Crystal Spring, Pennsylvania but had resided at Vandalia, Ohio, for 20 years.
Mr. Akers was employed by the Butler township trustees and previously had been a school custodian and bus driver for the schools. He served for 12 years on the village council and was a member of the planning board. He was a member of the volunteer fire department.
Services were held Tuesday, Dec. 5th, 1950 at 2:00 P.M. at Morton's Funeral Home, with Rev. Robert Ryder officiating. Burial was in the Polk Grove Cemetery.
Surviving are his wife Mary; Three Daughters, Jane, Mary Ann, and Linda and a son, Tim. Also surviving are 3 brothers, Russell of McConnellsburg, Pa., B. Merle Akers, of Johnstown, Pa., James C. Akers of Miami, Fla. A fourth brother, Archie E. Akers of Carlisle, Pa., preceded him in death. Mr. Akers was a member of the Methodist Church.
