Stepheni Jeanne Waugh, 43, of La Crosse, Wis., died Wednesday, Sept. 2, 2009, at Franciscan Skemp Medical Center in La Crosse.

Stepheni was born June 5, 1966, in Tomah, Wis. She attended both Logan and Central High School, and then went on to graduate from Winona State University. She did so with highest honors, making the dean's list eight consecutive semesters in business administration and accounting.

She was formerly employed at Sandy's Triangle Café in La Crosse, and at Maggie's Supper Club in Eitzen. After receiving her degree, she worked as a bookkeeper and accountant at ABLE Inc. in Caledonia.

Survivors include her sons, Andrew and Jordan Henke; and daughter, Alicia Henke; grandchildren, Madison Rose, Ella Rose and Alexander Barak Henke; mother, Edna Hansen; brothers, Edmund (Jenny) and Joel (Maria) Waugh; and sister, Abigail (Charles) John; aunt, Leta Copper; great-aunt, Lillian Jorgenson; best friend, Bonnie Bukkila; and loving partner, David Wilson.

Stepheni was preceded in death by her father, Stephen Waugh; paternal grandparents, David and Helen Waugh; and maternal grandparents, Edmund and Lavon Hansen.

She will be remembered for her love of the outdoors, her skill and passion for arts and crafts, her wonderful cooking, her intelligence and sense of humor, and above all, her devotion to and love for her family.

A memorial service was held Sept. 6 at Pettibone Park in La Crosse. The Rev. LeRoy Sua officiated.

Blaschke & Schneider Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
