Syracuse Syracuse Herald Journal Saturday Evening October 13, 1934

Mrs. Anna Ohmann Boog, 72, widow of Michael M. Boog, died this morning at her home, 631 Carbon St. Syracuse, NY after a long illness. A native of Germany, Mrs. Boog was a Resident of Syracuse and the North Side for 40 years. She was a member of Branch 46, L.C.B.A.. She is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Albert Kuhn, Mrs. Clarence Snow, Mrs. Joseph J. Costello and Mrs. John Muhr, all of Syracuse, three sons; John A., Paul P., and Martin J. Boog; one sister Mrs. Mary Stager; three brothers, Martin and Frederick Ohmann of Syracuse, NY and August Ohmann of Saranac Lake, NY; 16 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Monday from the home and at St John the Baptist Church. Burial will be in Assumption Cemetery.

Genealogical Note: Anna Boog lived with, and died, at the home of my husband Tom's parents, Margaret Boog and Joseph Costello at 631 Carbon Street. Her Wake and funeral were held from the home. Tom remembers playing under the Bier.
St. John the Baptist Church at 400 Court Street, Syracuse, is the Roman Catholic Church where her funeral mass was celebrated. The funeral entourage then proceeded to Assumption Cemetery at 2401 Court Street, Syracuse, NY, where entombment took place next to her husband Michael Boog. A stone marker with what he thinks is carved "Father" on it. Back in 1921 and 1934 there was no money for a headstone. Tom and I have visited their grave. The location of the gravesite was received from the Assumption Cemetery office records.
