Temple M. Allen, Jr. was the son of Temple M. Allen, Sr. and Catherine 'Rena' Elizabeth Smith.
In his early teenage years, Temple contracted reumatoid arthritis that totally paralized him. He did not let that 'challenge' get him down. He live life and had a newsstand business in Fredericksburg.
He had sister whom he spoiled in a loving way and a niece and nephew who grew up calling him "Pokey".
