Darrel Robin Beller, a former resident of Alaska, passed away early Saturday morning in a Wasilla Hospice facility. He was born April 2, 1959, in Anchorage. Darrel and his wife spent most of their married life in the Mat-Su Valley. They had recently retired, and relocated to Coupeville Washington, where they built their dream home on the Straits of Juan de Fuca.
Darrel worked over 30 years for the City of Anchorage as a heavy equipment operator. He enjoyed traveling throughout Europe and tropical islands, gardening in his greenhouse and outdoor gardens, flying, and maintaining his own plane with his father, Bud Beller. He was an avid outdoorsman who had climbed the Chilkoot Trail, Mount Rainier, and trekked for a month through Mount Everest. Darrel and his life-long friend, Joe, enjoyed telemark and downhill skiing, hunting, fishing, and sailing in Prince William Sound.
He is survived by his wife, Linda; his mother, Marydell; sister, Linda; brother, Gary and his wife Donna. He was preceded in death by his father, Darrel (Bud) Beller in 1994.
