Clara (Bond) Almand was the oldest child of Dr. William Parks Bond and his first wife Sarah Ann (Born). On 18 June 1877, Clara married Alexander J. Almand, son of J. T. Almand and Cynthia Ann (Chafin). The couple had eight children: Sadie, Lula, Edgar, John Parks, H. Grady, Claude A., W. Bond, and Joseph Morris. Their son Bond Almand was an associate justice of the Georgia Supreme Court for twenty years, and chief justice for three years. Their son John Parks Almand was a notable architect in Little Rock, Arkansas. He also designed the Lithonia Methodist Church building where the Almand family used to attend church.
