Mr. Carlin retired in 1968 as an engineer with the U.S. Navy in New York City. He had also been an engineer for the architectural firm of the late Eero Saarinen in CT. There he helped develop plans for the John F. Kennedy Airport, New York City, and Dulles Airport in Washington, D.C. Previously he held positions with other major consulting engineering firms and the Phila. City Planning Commission.
Mr. Carlin was editor of Civil Engineering magazine from 1935-1938.
The Phila. Section extends its sincere sympathies to Mr. Carlin's wife Dorothy; a son, Alan Philip, & two grandchildren - who survive him.
