Booth Waddell, 49, a Birdville ISD teacher of North Richland Hills, passed away Saturday, Sept. 25, 2004, in North Richland Hills.
The funeral was held 10 a.m. Tuesday at Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Chapel.
Burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery in Athens under the direction of Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home in Colleyville.
Since the loss of his beloved wife four years ago, Booth's life had been dedicated to nurturing his two young children.
A loving father, son and brother, as well as a gifted teacher, Booth possessed a special gift of inspiring others to reach for their greatest potential. He was esteemed as his son's best buddy, the family's rock and anchor, a confidant and adviser and a skilled peacemaker. His son will always remember his dad as someone who always encouraged him to try harder and never quit.
As a coach and teacher, many individuals were blessed by Booth's influence. Over the last 11 years he had been a coach and taught business, history, computer and social studies at Birdville High School.
Booth received incredible gratification from relationships he had with students and the long-term relationships he maintained with them. It was not unusual for Booth to get a call from past students seeking advice on important life decisions.
All who knew him will feel his absence greatly.
Booth was preceded in death by wife, Janet; father, Rhett; and older brother, Ronnie.
Survivors include his mother, Mareda; sister, Vicki; children, Reece and Rachel; and nephew, Anthony Waddell.
