Donald Alford Martin

Donald Alford Martin, 79, resident of Cornville, passed away on Monday, June 23, 2008. He was the son of Ludger and Coranna Martin; born November 17, 1928 in Woonsocket, Rhode Island.

After obtaining his G.E.D. Donald attended the NTS. Professionally, Donald worked in Law enforcement as a Police Lieutenant.

Donald was always proud for having served his country during WWII as a Staff Sergeant in the United States Air Force. He received 3 purple hearts for his dedication and bravery.

Donald enjoyed landscaping and building and utilized his talents in helping to build a Catholic Church.

He leaves behind his beloved wife of 38 years, Elenore R. Martin of Cornville; his daughters, Carol Ann (Harry) Wright of Canada, Dianne Louise (Marty) Dare of Tucson, and Donia Angel (Richard) Sheets of Mission Viejo, California; his sister, Connie (Ralph) Scotland of Rhode Island; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

No local services will be held. Donald will be placed to rest at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona in Prescott.

Memorial donations made in Donald's name may be sent to any preferred Hospice Organization.
