Rites Held Today For Mrs. Hoddy - Ponca City Newspaper, Ponca City, OK Sept 6, 1972

Funeral Mass for Lucretia M. Hoddy, 39, of 511 South Fourth, was held this morning in St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church.
Pallbearers were George Martin, Alvin Spore, Jim Hall, Clarence Cain, Billie Joe Marckesoni and Danny Marckesoni. Burial was in St. Mary's Cemetery.
Mrs. Hoddy died Monday in the Ponca City Hospital after a long illness. She was born in 1933 at Caldwell, Kan., and was married to John Walter Hoddy in 1955.
Survivors include her husband and two children, Tom and Krisie, of the home; her mother, Mrs. Irene Schmidt, 208 North Thirteenth; two brothers, Donald Schmidt, Dallas, and Melvin Schmidt, Midwest City; four sisters, Mrs. Bill (Dolores) Lambert, Stillwater, Mrs. Ambrose (Veronica) Lauer, Wichita, Mrs. Jerome (Mary) Mertzen, Viola, Kan., and Miss Gloria Schmidt, Stillwater, and 19 nephews and 18 nieces.

Wife of Fireman Dies at Hospital - Ponca City Newspaper, Ponca City, OK Sept 5, 1972

Office of the Dead for Lucretia M. Hoddy, 39, of 511 South Fourth, will be 7:30 this evening in the chapel of E. M. Trout and Sons Funeral Home.
Funeral Mass will be in St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church at 10 a.m. Wednesday. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
Mrs. Hoddy died Monday in the Ponca City Hospital after a long illness. She was born May 7, 1933, at Caldwell, Ran., daughter of Irene M. and Carl H. Schmidt.
She graduated from St. Mary's High School in 1950 and from St. Joseph School of Nursing in 1953. She was employed as nurse - receptionist for Dr. Laille Neal prior to her marriage to John Walter Hoddy on Sept. 17, 1955.
Mr. and Mrs. Hoddy made their home in Ponca City where he is a captain with the Ponca City Fire Department.

A memorial has been established in Mrs. Hoddy's name for the American Cancer Society and contributions may be made through Kathryn Wright at First National Bank.
