Perry - Dan Adkinson, Sr., 70, of Elko Rd. died Sunday in a local hospital after a lengthy illness. Services will be held Tuesday in Perry Memorial Gardens.
Elder George Riley Hunt will be officiating and Mr. Adkinson's grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
Mr. Adkinson, a native of Alabama, had lived in Perry 25 years and was a retired farmer and a Baptist.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Estelle Griggs Adkinson of Perry; two sons, Grover Adkinson of El Paso, Tex., and Dan Adkinson of Louisville, Ky.; 5 daughters, Mrs. Rufus Williams of Bluffton, Miss., Mrs. Theo Farr of Kathleen, Mrs. J.C. Hemphill of Perry, Mrs. Charles Harrison of Grovania, and Mrs. Richard Swift of Lakeland, Fla.; a brother, Louis Adkinson of Yazoo City, Miss.; two sisters, Ms. Sylvania Riser of Yazoo city, Miss. and Mrs. Sara Lou Kennedy of Louisville, Ala.
Watson-Hunt Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
