Obituary from The Tryon Star, 7 Jan 1908

Died at his home in Tryon Jan. 2, 1909, John C. Fuller, one of our oldest and most respect citizens after only a few days illness.
He was born Feb. 11, 1840, and died Jan. 2, 1909, age 68 years, 10 months, and 21 days. He was married to Mary Friend Feb. 11, 1863, and of this union nine children were born, six sons and three daughters, three of which have preceded him to the better world. He was converted in the year 1873 and united with the Methodist church and lived trusting in the Lord. He last words were that he was ready to die.
His funeral was preached at the Christian Union church Sunday afternoon by Rev. Meeks and the remains were laid to rest in the George cemetery northeast of town.
The Star with many friends extend sympathy to the bereaved ones in this one of their greatest losses on this earth.
