Mildred A. Betschler-Buske, 85, of Watertown, passed away Tuesday morning, May 27, 2008, at her home, surrounded by her loving family, following a lingering illness. Mildred Anna Baars was born on Feb. 10, 1923, in the Town of Farmington to Otto and Charlotte (Reese) Baars.
On May 19, 1948, she married Palmer Betschler at St. John's Lutheran Church in Johnson Creek. He preceded her in death on Oct. 13, 1990.
On Aug. 13, 1994, Mildred married Edgar Buske at Immanuel Lutheran Church of Farmingotn. He preceded her in death on June 16, 1998.
Mildred attended Farmington Grade School. She and her husband, Palmer, farmed in the Town of Watertown. She also was a Watkins and Foreverliving Products distributor. Mildred was well known for her cake baking and decorating for weddings and special events.
Mildred was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church of Farmington and its Ladies Aid. She also was a member of the Turner Hall Auxiliary and the National Farm Organization. She enjoyed gardening and dancing, especially polkas.
Survivors include a daughter, Lois Kimball of Watertown; a son, Dennis (Kathleen) Betschler of Watertown; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren, a brother; Marlys (Sandra) Baars of Fifield, WI and other relatives and friends.
Mildred was also preceded in death by her parents; a brother in childhood; and two grandchildren in infancy, William Kimball and David Betschler.
Mildred will be greatly missed by her family and her dog, Otto. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 31, 2008 at the Immanuel Lutehran Church of Farmington at 11 am with the Rev. Reuben W. Schmitz Jr. officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
