Clyde A. Reed
Clyde A. Reed was born in Indianiola, Iowa, March 19, 1866 and died in Oklahoma City, June 19, 1933 at the age of 67 years and 3 months.
He came to Oklahoma at the opening of the Cherokee Strip in 1893 and settled near Cherokee, Oklahoma. He moved to Mountain View in 1901, where he was active in business and civic affairs.
Though he was engaged in the cotton ginning business at Fairview, Oklahoma prior to his death, he always considered Mountain View as his home.
On November 2, 1892, he was married to Nannie E. Ray and three children were born to this union, one daughter and two sons.
His daughter, Mrs. Floyd Eaton, Mountain View; two sons, R.S. (Ralph) Reed and P.R. (Paul) Reed both of Oklahoma City, two brothers, C.M. (Charles) Reed, Duncan and W.R. (William) Reed, Wamsutter, Wyoming, one sister, Mrs. (Jennie M.) E.M. Smith, McCloud, Oklahoma, two grandchildren and a host of friends are left to mourn his death.
The funeral services were held from the Methodist church June 20 with the Rev. F.L. Giles officiating.
Interment was made at the Mountain View cemetery with attendants from Knights Funeral home in charge.
