Mary Lake Butts Fowler

Memorial services for Mary Lake Butts Fowler, 97, of Duck Hill will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 18, 2009, at Red Hill Church of Christ with Brother Dan Beardain officiating.

Mrs. Fowler died April 9 at her home. She was born January 2, 1912, and was a member of the Red Hill Church of Christ. She was a homemaker and worked with her husband at Fate Fowler Grocery in Sweatman for over 40 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, K.J. and Mary Catherine Butts; one brother, Stanton; two sisters, Thelma Fowler and Dorothy Travis; and her husband, Fate Fowler of Sweatman.

Her survivors include her children, Jesse R. Fowler (Shirley) of Picayune, Hal B. Fowler of Duck Hill, Jean Marrow (James) of Duck Hill, and Wanda Berry of Duck Hill; 10 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your favorite charity.

Garner-Harper Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
