Freda Axvig, 88, rural Edinburg, died Sunday, Sept. 11, 1994, in St. Anagar's Hospital, Park River, N.D. Freda Tresler was born April 27, 1906, in Edinburg, the daughter of Emmanuel and Annie (Monson) Tresler. She graduated in 1925 from Edinburg High School, attended Mayville (N.D.) State Teachers College and taught for five years in elementary school.
She married Henry Axvig Sept. 19, 1930, in Edinburg, N.D., and they farmed in Osford Township, Cavalier County, N.D. He died Feb. 6, 1979. She is survived by sons, Robert, Denham Springs, La., and Allyn, Edinburg: daughters, Marjorie (Mrs. Wayne) Smith, Englewood, Colo., and Elaine (Mrs. Duane) Wright Maddock, N.D., a foster son, Maynard Mortenson, Arvilla, N.D., 18 grandchildren; and 34 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by sisters, Myrtle and Alice. Services: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in Victory Free Lutheran Church, Park River. Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. today in Tollefson Funeral Home, Edinburg, and one hour before services in the church. Burial: Hitterdal Cemetery, rural Milton, N.D.
