He was Lance Corporal 15280 serving in the Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers (10th Batt.) during the First World War. He was killed on the first day of the Battle of the Somme and has no known grave. He is remembered here on the family headstone.
He is also remembered on the Thiepval War Memorial - Pier and Face 4D and 5B.
He was the son of John ALLENDER, 10, Fountain Place, Londonderry, Ireland who died January 12th 1951.
