June A. Beal, 73, of Fort Dodge, an Orange City native, died Friday, July 16, at a Des Moines Hospital after a sudden illness.
Services were at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 20, at First Presbyterian Church, Fort Dodge, with the Rev. David Feltman officiating. Burial was in North Lawn Cemetery, Fort Dodge.
She was born February 18, 1920, at Orange City. She graduated from Orange City High School and attended Northwestern College. She taught school for two years at Newkirk. She later graduated from Drake University with an education degree. She married Harvey Do Kock in 1941 at Orange City; they lived in Sioux City. They moved to Fort Doge in 1954. He died in 1964. She married Ted Soppeland in 1976 at Fort Dodge. He died in 1987. She married Thomas Beal in 1992 at Fort Doge. She had taught for 24 years in the Fort Dodge Public Schools.
She was a member of PEO Chapter IM, Webster County Retired Teachers, Fort Doge Art Club, First Presbyterian Church, and had served on the board of the Fort Dodge YMCA. She was a volunteer guide at the Fort Dodge Museum and a member of the Trinity Regional Hospital Auxillary in Fort Dodge.
Survivors include her husband; sons Donald De Kock of Enid, Oklahoma, and Bob De Kock of Muscatine; a daughter, Sandra De Kock Bowman of Perry, Kansas; two brothers, Ed and Ray Lubbers, both of Orange City; seven grandchildren; five stepchildren; and seven step-grandchildren.
Memorial donations may be directed to Northwestern College, Orange City, of First Presbyterian Church of Fort Dodge.
