Richard Fox was born to John Fox and Sarah (Nelson) Fox on Sept. 15, 1815, in Nova Scotia, Canada.
Richard Fox's father, John was born in Northern Ireland (Posably the "Isles".)John Fox had been a soldier in the British Army, was disbanded and given a grant in either Antigonish or Guysbourough Co., Nova Scotia. He also fought in the Irish rebellion of 1798. He then moved to Middle Musquodoboit, married Sarah Nelson, and had his first child in 1811. Richard Fox was 1 child of John and Sarah's of a total of 9 children in all. It is said that 4 of the children iof John and Sarah went to Me., and Mich. 1 Robert went to Ont., and 4 to N.S.
Richard Fox came from Musquodoboit, Nova Scotia, Canada around 1836. He settled in Burlington, Penobscot, Main around 1837. There the Fox farm was built.
Richard and his wife Ann (White)Fox had 5 children: Ella b.?, Dorcusb.1841,John Wesley b.1843,Charles b.1846,George Henry b.1849,
The family also lived in Lowell, Main and Bangor, Main, which is where Richard spent his final days.
