Lorraine Virginia Carter Abbott Lorraine Virginia Carter Abbott formerly of 2203 Westover Drive, passed away on Saturday, January 7, 2012 at Roman Eagle Memorial Home. She was born on June 4, 1928 in Greensboro, NC a daughter of Felix Joe Carter and Jesse Foster Carter. She was married to Raymond C. Abbott who predeceased her on December 21, 2004. Lorraine was a longtime member of the former Burton Memorial Presbyterian Church, now Unity Presbyterian Church. She is survived by a number of nieces and nephews and a devoted and faithful friend, Mary "Betty" Wright. In addition to her husband she was predeceased by five brothers, Claude Carter, Kenneth Carter, Franklin "F.J." Carter, Paul Carter, Fredrick Ray Carter, and one sister, Zora Carter Anderson. The family would also like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff of Roman Eagle Memorial Home, Audrey Riddle, and Amy Smith. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 10, 2012 at 2:00 PM from the Danville Memorial Gardens Chapel with Reverend Dr. CAM McIntire and Reverend Archer McIntire officiating. Interment will follow at Danville Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from one hour before the funeral service at the Danville Memorial Gardens Chapel.

Aunt Lorraine, I miss you so much and it breaks my heart every time I pass your house. We had so much fun together and I miss our Monday nights at Mary's diner and our shopping sprees. I will always love you and will see you again on the other side.
