Elmer H. Floyd, 53, of Sullivan, a former Morristown resident, died Wednesday, Sept. 29, in Sullivan County Community Hospital, in Sullivan.
Born Oct. 15, 1950, in Corbin, Ky., he was the son of Birchel O. and Muhaska Tabitha Floyd.
Survivors include his mother of Clearwater, Fla., one son, Shane R. (wife Brandi) Floyd of Sullivan; one daughter, Staci T. Floyd of St. Petersburg, Fla.; three brothers, Birchel Floyd, Jr., of Phoenix, Ariz., Eugene Floyd of Clearwater, and Dale Floyd of King, N.C.; two sisters, Louise White and Lorrine Lowe, both of Clearwater; and one grandson, Birchel N. Floyd of Sullivan.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Mr. Floyd was a former Morristown and Noblesville resident and had lived in Sullivan for three years. He had been employed with Chrysler at Kokomo for 33 years as a factory worker and an inspector for eight years, retiring in 1999. Mr. Floyd was a graduate of Morristown High School, 1968. He was a member of United Auto Workers No. 685.
A gathering of friends will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Frazier Funeral Home, 124 E. North St., in Morristown.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, at the funeral home with the Rev. Gary Jones officiating. Intermentwill be at a later date in Asbury Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Morristown Boys and Girls Club, in care of Frazier Funeral Home, 124 E. North St. Morristown, IN.
