Son of Peder Borup Pedersen and Christine Christensen.
May 1861 - sailed from Liverpool, ENG on the S.S. Monarch of the Seas with his father and mother and brothers and sisters. Traveled to Utah with the Murdock ox team. Later moved to Boise, Idaho.

PIONEER WHO PASSED AWAY -- CARL BORUP (Idaho Statesman Newspaper)

Many friends crowded the L.D.S. tabernacle to its capacity sunday, Oct. 3, to pay tribute to Carl Borup, who passed from this life Oct. 1.

Bishop Samuel W. Worthington presided. Invocation was by his former bishop, William H. Edgely.

Mr. Bourp was a native of Denmark having been born at Jutland Sept. 29, 1850. He emigrated with his parents to utah, at the age of 11, crossing the plains in John Murdock's company. They settled in Goshen, utah. Between the years of 1866 and 1871 he made two more trips across the plains by ox team to assist other companies. He was on guard duty during the toilsome journey and oftimes related their narrow escape from the Indians. He was also a veteran of the Blackhawk war.

Nov. 3, 1873 he married Caroline Thomas in the Endowment house at Salt Lake City. They celebrated their fiftieth anniversary at Boise, Nov. 3, 1923. The deceased moved to Idaho in 1902 and has resided in this state until the time of his death.

Surviving him are his wife, Mrs. Caroline Borup; his six sons, Charles B., David J., Phillip P., William T., Benjamin T., and Henry J. Boruop; his two daughters, Mrs. Marguerite Worthington and Mrs. Sarah Taylor; a brothe rand a sister, Peter borup and Mrs. Lena Neibaur. All were in attendance at the final rites. He has 41 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

His six sons acted as pallbearers. Burial was in the Morris Hill Cemetery. De dedicatory prayer was offered by Fred W. Dalton., Jr.
