BURCHIE ADAMS
PENDLETON - Burchie Adams, 71, prominent farmer in this area, of Rt. 1, died last evening at St. John's Hospital, Anderson, following an illness of one week.
Mr. Adams was a native of Hamilton County and was the son of David and Mattie (Whetsel) Adams. He came to this community when two years of age.
A past president of the Madison County Farm Bureau, Mr. Adams was a member of the Methodist Church at Pendlton, a member of the Masonic Lodge, No. 44, where he was a past-master and also past-patron of the Order of Eastern Star.
The body was taken to the Cornel Bright Funeral Home, where friends may call after 7 p.m. today and where final rites will be conducted Friday morning at 10:30 o'clock. Interment will be in the Grove Lawn Cemetery.
Survivors include the widow, Mrs. Dane Adams; a daughter, Mrs. Mildred Rogers, Pendleton; a brother, Frank Adams, near Pendleton; three grandchildren and five great grandsons.
