Alexander Matthew Albu, age 18, of 110 Fairway 11 Court, Blowing Rock, died Saturday, April 10, 2010, at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem.
Mr. Albu was born January 12, 1992 in Plantation, Florida, a son of Nicolae and Carmen Badiu Albu. He was a student at Watauga High School and a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Boone.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Albu is survived by one sister, Alexis Albu; one brother, Axel Albu; his maternal grandmother, Maria Badiu, all of Blowing Rock; two uncles, Marius Albu and wife Maria, of Palm City, Florida, and John Albu of Romania, and one cousin, Victor Albu.
A Funeral Mass for Alexander Matthew Albu will be conducted Thursday morning, April 15, 2010, at 10:00 o'clock, at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church. The body will lie in state, at the church, from 9:00 until 10:00 o'clock. Officiating will be Father Joe Mulligan. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery in Blowing Rock.
The family will receive friends Thursday morning, from 9:00 until 10:00 o'clock, at the church, prior to the service.
