BETHEL - Howard Guthrie, 66, of Bethel, died Tuesday night in Randolph County Hospital, Winchester, after a long illness.
He was a native of Wildie, Ky., and had lived in Bethel 33 years. He was a member of the Wildie Christian Church. He retired from Wayne Transportation Division of Wayne Corp., after 12 years employment.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Marie; five sons, James of Jennings, Okla., Charles of Apollo Beach, Fla., Robert of Port Saint Lucie, Fla., Garry with the U.S. Army in Germany, Danny of Ocean Grove, N.J.; four daughters, Hazel Kindley, Norma Null and Martha Holzapfel, all of Hollansburg, Ohio, and Penny, a student at Earlham College; two brothers, Burley Lloyd of Winchester and Steve of Fort Lauderhill, Fla.; two sisters, Myrtle Miller of Franklin, Ohio, and Beulah Helms of Clearwater, Fla.; 18 grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Funeral service for Howard Guthrie will be at 1 P.M. Saturday at Smith & McQuiston Funeral Home in Fountain City, with the Rev. Gerald Bennett, pastor of Bethel Christian Church, officiating. Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 P.M. Friday at the funeral home.
