Aged Tyrone Resident Dies From Hip Injury.
Following an accident last Wednesday, in which he fell and fractured his left hip at the home of his son on Lincoln Ave., Tyrone, WILLIAM K. AGNEW, died at the Agnew home at 9:35 o'clock yesterday morning.
He was the son of LEVI and ELIZABETH AGNEW, who were among the early settlers of Bedford County, and was born on May 30, 1835. He followed the carpenter trade until 1901, when he retired from work and went to Tyrone to make his home with his son, WILLIAM H. AGNEW. His wife, who was ELIZABETH KINTON, died twenty-four years ago.
One son and two daughters survive:
William H. AGNEW of Tyrone,
Mrs. Anna K. STIVER of Parsons, W. Va., and
Mrs. W. D. THOMPSON of Crucible, Pa.
Mr. AGNEW was a veteran of the Civil War and was a member of William Watson Post G.A.R. of Bedford, Pa.
Short funeral services in charge of Rev. R.J. Allen will be held at the home this evening at 7 o'clock. The body will be taken to Bedford tomorrow morning, where burial will be made following services held in the Methodist Church.
