Dr William Edward Minahan, 44, was born on 20 April 1867, the son of Irish immigrants William B. Minahan and Mary Shaughnessy. He later became a well known physician in Fon du Lac, Wisconsin.
The sinking of the ocean liner RMS Titanic on April 15, 1912 off the coast of Newfoundland is remembered as one of the most dramatic events of the twentieth century. In a mere four hours after striking an iceberg, the largest passenger ship yet built sank while on its maiden voyage, claiming the lives of 1,517 persons. Many of those who perished on the ship came from prominent American, British, and European families. Among the dead was Dr William Edward Minahan, 44, who was born on 20 April 1867, the son of Irish immigrants William B. Minahan and Mary Shaughnessy. He later became a well known physician in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin.
Minahan boarded the Titanic at Queenstown as first class passenger (Ticket No. 19928, £90), together with his wife Lillian and sister Daisy. They occupied cabin C-78.
Will's last words to his wife and sister were report to be "be brave."
Dr Minahan died in the sinking, his body was recovered by the MacKay Bennett (#230):

The body was forwarded to V. J. Minahan (probably his brother Victor), Green Bay, Wisconsin on May 2, 1912. He is buried at Green Bay in Woodlawn cemetery.
