Helen E. "Butzie" Neal Amos, 64, died at 8:15 AM Saturday, May 20, 1989, at St. Elizabeth Hospital Medical Center. She had been hospitalized since April 10. A native and life-long resident of Lafayette, she was born July 23, 1924, and was a graduate of Jefferson High School. She married Joseph Allison Amos on May 30, 1952, in Lafayette; he is a retired employee of CSX Railroad (formerly Monon Railroad). Mrs. Amos was employed at the former Eisner Food Store in West Lafayette.
Surviving with her husband are three daughters, Mrs. Patricia J. Moore of Lafayette; Bobbi (Mrs. Charles) Holycross of San Antonio, TX; and Mrs. Faithe Golladay of Phoenix, AZ; her mother, Mrs. Helena Neal of Lafayette; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded by her father, William Neal, and one grandson. Service May 22, Hippensteel Chapel, Pastor John A. Herfurt officiating; internment Tippecanoe Memory Gardens.
