Funeral Program

George Lenoir Allison, son of George Wilkerson and Mary Ellen Lenoir Allison, was born on 415 South Walnut Street in McPherson, Kansas, on July 31, 1889. He attended the McPherson Public Schools and graduated from the Kemper Military School at Boonville, Missouri, in 1909. He then furthered his education by attending Kansas University and the University of Southern California. During World War I, he served as a Captain in the Army of the United States. In the year 1922, George was admitted to practice law and on January 28, 1943, he was appointed Judge of the Ninth Judicial District of Kansas. He held this position until his retirement in 1961.

On August 1, 1917, George was united in marriage to Eleanor Ruth Huston in Topeka, Kansas. This union was blessed with two sons: George Lenoir, Jr. and William John. George, Jr. preceded his father in death in the year 1921. George and Ruth were blessed with nearly fifty years of companionship. He was a devoted husband and father, always ready to give counsel and encouragement to his family and friends. George was a member of the First Christian Church. He also was a member of the American Legion and the Elks Lodge. Judge Allison, a lifetime resident of this community and having taken an active part in civic and business affairs over the years, shall long be remembered for the devotion he showed in serving and helping others during his lifetime.

After a sudden illness, George passed on to eternal rest at his home on 303 South Walnut Street, on Wednesday, March 15, 1967, at the age of seventy-seven years.
Surviving members of his family include his loving wife, Ruth, and one son, William John, San Rafael, California.
