Norma Delores Bates was the daughter of Calvin and Jewell Williams Bennett. On June 15, 1973, she was united in marriage with Leroy Bates.At an early age, Delores, as she was known to family and friends, professed her faith in Christ and attended Competition Baptist Church where she taught children's Sunday School classes and Vacation Bible School classes as long as her health permitted. She was also very supportive of her husband Leroy's ministry through the years.

She is survived by her husband Leroy of the home; one daughter, Lea Ann Lemoine and her husband Ray of Lebanon; one son, John Bates and his wife Jennifer of Winter Haven, FL; two step-daughters, Donna Bates Stenger and partner Nolan Mace of Springfield, MO and Patti Bates Niebruegge of Roby, MO; nine grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Nita Griffin and her husband Dale, and Carol Tinsley, all of Lebanon; one brother, Russell Bennett and his wife Kay of Lebanon; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and a host of friends.

Delores was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Floyd Irvin McGuire; one step-son, Anthony Bates; one granddaughter, Amanda Stenger; one sister, Betty Griffin; three brothers, Vencey Ball, Stanley Bennett and Larry Bennett. Delores was a sweet Christian wife, mother and grandmother
