Rilla Louise "Lou" Quillen Morris of Slymar, California, passed away on April 10, 1996 from injuries sustained in an auto accident. She was born to Rilla Stack and John Raymond Quillen on January 5, 1938, in Missouri. Rilla "Lou" was the oldest of five children. Her siblings are John Raymond "Jack" Quillen, Jr.; Sandra Jean Quillen Killeen, Kathy Quillen Abrahams and Linda Quillen Shepherd.
While Lloyd was on leave from the Navy in San Fernando, California he met a girl at James Drive In. He requested her phone number, but she gave him Lou's. After dating for a short while Lloyd proposed to Lou who would not accept the engagement ring until it was paid for. Lloyd and Lou were married on September 8, 1956 at the 1st Presbyterian Church in San Fernando, California. Lou's husband, Lloyd, said that he did not know what he had until he lost her.
Lou's daughter, Jherdi, said that when she lost her mother she lost her best friend. They enjoyed their trips to Las Vegas and going to concerts together. She also said she could go on for days telling about her mother. She indicated that a lot of people loved Lou. The company that Lou worked for, Gibralter Plastics, closed down the day of her services, so that all who wanted to could pay their respects.
