R. Claribel Albert, 89, of East Stroudsburg, died Thursday, April 16, at the VNA Hospice House in East Stroudsburg. She was the wife of the late Russell C. Albert, who died in 1997, and the grandmother of the late Ryan Christopher Albert, who died in 1975.
Born on Nov. 21, 1919, in East Stroudsburg, she was the daughter of the late William G. and Ruth (Mosher) Lesoine. She was a lifelong resident of Monroe County.
She was a member of the first class of the consolidated Smithfield Elementary School. She worked at the family-owned Waterfront Farms Boarding House in Smithfield Township.
She was a very active member of the St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Craigs Meadow, having served on nearly every committee and board at the church. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
She is survived by two sons, Russell C. Albert II and his wife, Jayne, of East Stroudsburg, and James Albert and his wife, Linda, of St. Mary's, Ga.; a daughter, Patricia Bartholomew and her husband, Robert, of Ellensburg, Wash.; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. In addition to her grandson, Ryan, she was preceded in death by a brother, Irving Lesoine.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 2, at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Craigs Meadow. There will be no viewing, and the interment will be private.
