Ww2 veteran Rea Guistwite says: 'Armstrong was Killed by a sniper bullet. Near the Elbe river. He was the last man killed of the 14th Field Artillery Battalion before the war ended. We put his body in a ration truck for several days until graves collection retrieved him. Otherwise he might have been overlooked/lost all because our rapid combat movement at that time''.
