Dorothy Viola Clay Barnett was welcomed into the arms of her loving Savior on Thursday, October 25, 2007.

She was born in Romance, Arkansas, October 17, 1917, the daughter of Phillip Malvern and Hettie Pennecy Clay.

Dorothy was a precious mother and a true model of God's grace and love to her family and friends. She always spoke of God's love and goodness. Dorothy was always sharing her testimonies with everyone. She taught Sunday School at various churches during her lifetime of service for her Lord.

She is survived by her loving children: Comaletta and Bob Porter of Cabot; Reta and Darrell McCoy of Searcy; Larry and Feona Barnett of Van Buren; and Judy and Robert Garrett of North Little Rock. Also 12 Sweet Grandbabies, Kelli Scott, Kevin Scott, Michele (Keith) Thompson, Jennifer (Bryan) Burris, Rebecca (Jason) Norvell, Matthew (Christy) Barnett, Brittney (Matt) Crowell; Melissa (Scott) Rodgers, Amanda Garrett, Kathy (Charles) McCrotty, Sheila (Brad) Vanaman, and Rick (Summer) McCoy. She was also the proud Great Grandmother of 21 Great Grandbabies.

Dorothy is also survived by two sisters of Searcy; Ruby Holeman of Rose Bud; and Dahlia Hartsell of Little Rock, as well as several wonderful nieces and nephews and many close friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Roy Bethel Barnett, her parents, her brother Clint Clay, and sisters Florence Fry, and Reva Mae Gaither.

She was a homemaker and a retired seamstress. She started her career with Tuf-Nut, and later worked for Treadway Shade and Blind, Little Rock Shade and Blind, Carroll's Drapery, and retired as supervisor from Rowland Drapery in 1979.

She will be greatly missed by all, however, we know she no longer struggles but is now enjoying her heavenly rewards.

The family would like to extend their love and appreciation to the many caregivers and friends at Beebe Retirement Center. A special thank you to all the kind members of Arkansas Hospice, especially Sandra Clinton and Peggy Johnson, who ministered and cared for Mom. The family will be at 411 S. Sherwood in Searcy, Arkansas.

Funeral Services will be Saturday, October 27, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at Rose Bud Assembly of God Church with interment following at Bethesda Cemetery in Rose Bud, Arkansas.
