Rev. Arvel Baker, age 92, husband of Shirley Baker of London, Kentucky passed away Saturday, November 19, 2022 at Laurel Heights Home for the Elderly. He was the father of Terry "Birdy" Baker and wife Bunny of London, Kentucky; the step-father of Stanley Boggs and wife Cindy of Lily, Kentucky, Benny Boggs and wife Connie and Sue Hopkins and husband Eugene all of Corbin, Kentucky; the brother of Lexine Hicks, Christine Howard, Delphia Boggs and Ernest Baker all of Peru, Indiana, Faye Hendrix of Crab Orchard, Kentucky, Wade Baker and wife Angie, Ray Baker and wife Earlene and Irene Caldwell all of Yeaddiss, Kentucky. He was blessed with fifteen grandchildren, Torie Hampton and husband Daniel, Terra Baker, Neal Baker, Toby Baker, Tennille Baker, Ashley Jenkins, Josh Boggs and wife Jodi all of London, Kentucky, Lindsey Shelton and husband Steve of Corbin, Kentucky, Mary Messer and husband Todd of Keavy, Kentucky, Natosha Aubachon and husband Chris, Destiney Boggs, Presley Boggs, Hayden Boggs, and James Boggs all of Lily, Kentucky. He was also blessed with with a host of great and great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Hedy Baker; by his son, Larry Baker; by his parents, Emra and Katie Baker; and by his brother, Arthur Baker. He was a Retired Veteran of the United States Army, a Business Owner, and a member of Old Union Holiness Church of London, Kentucky.
Funeral services for Rev. Arvel Baker will be conducted Friday, November 25, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. in London Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Bobby Helton and Bro. Greg Deaton officiating. Burial will follow at Swiss Colony Cemetery with D.A.V. Chapter 158 Keavy in charge of military honors. The family of Rev. Arvel Baker will receive friends at London Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. until time of service on Friday, November 25, 2022.
Serving as pallbearers will be: Daniel Hampton, Toby Baker, Randy Walsh, Vern Imhoff, Larry Hicks and Jerry Smith.
Serving as honorary pallbearers will be: Stanley Boggs and Benny Boggs.
