He moved to Ranger as an infant and was a graduate of Ranger High school. He worked as a cowhand and a truck driver before entering the US Army. He served in Korea.
After an honorable discharge, he returned to Ranger, later moving to Odessa where he owned and operated Ainsworth Electric. He was active in the Grandview Baptist Church, served as a deacon and Royal Ambassador teacher.
He retired in 1992 and moved to Olden. He was a member of the Grandview Baptist Church in Odessa and VFW Post 4136 of Eastland County. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and was an outdoorsman.
Survived by son - Ronald Ainsworth; two daughters - Sharon Schroyer and Cathy Morris; one step-daughter - LaSonda Bush; brother - Harold Ainsworth; sister - Madelyn Harter; eight grandchildren.
