Joseph T. Campisano was born in Walston 16 May 1906 to Thomas and Louise (Pugliese) Campisano, natives of Italy. He was a member of St. Bernard's Catholic Church. Joseph practiced dentistry in Rural Valley before being associated with the Civilian Conservation Corps as a dental officer prior to World War II. He served with the U.S. Army during WWII and retired as a lieutenant colonel. He graduated from the University of Pittsburgh and the University of Pittsburgh Dental School in 1931.
His wife, Mary (Pesci) Campisano, and two sons, Thomas E. of Indiana, PA, and Joseph F., of Ebensburg plus six grandchildren survived him.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Nicholas.
His funeral was held Thursday, 18 May 1978 and burial in the St. Bernard's Catholic Church cemetery followed.
