Anna G. Bowser
Anna G. (Moore) Bowser, 97, of Worthington, West Franklin Township, Armstrong County, died Tuesday, April 10, 2007, in her residence. She was born Aug. 8, 1909, in Boggs Township, a daughter of the late Harve and Ada (Barker) Moore, and stepdaughter of the late Violet (Alcorn) Moore. She was a teacher for the many Armstrong County schools. She also tutored and was a substitute teacher after retirement. She was an active member of Franklin Union Baptist Church, West Franklin Township, where she served many offices. She also was very active in the Worthington 4-H Sewing Club and enjoyed making quilts. She was a graduate of the Slippery Rock Teachers College. In addition to her parents and stepmother, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roy K. Bowser, on Jan. 22, 1996; a brother, Ken Moore; sister, Edith Troutman, and an infant sister. She is survived by her son, Donald R. (Shelby) Bowser, of Worthington; a daughter, Shirley (Ralph) Williamson, of Dayton, Pa.; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. Friends will be welcomed by her family from 10 a.m. until time of funeral ceremonies at 11 a.m. Thursday at Franklin Union Baptist Church, West Franklin Township, with the Rev. George Hall officiating. Interment following in Franklin Union Baptist Church Cemetery, West Franklin Township. Arrangements entrusted to the care of CLAWSON'S, Second at Main streets, Leechburg, 724-842-1051. In lieu of flowers, her family suggests memorial contributions be made to her church.
