She was born on March 4, 1776, in Northumberland County, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Captain James J.McLaughlin (1742-1829) of Scottland- and Elizabeth MacKey (1749-1846). Elizabeth MacKey was the daughter of James Mackey of Northern Ireland, and Elizabeth Johnson. James and Elizabeth Allison had three children during their marriage:Nancy Allison (Betts) -born @ 1795, Mary A. Allison (Hoffman-Ruff)-born @1796, and James Allison (1800-1869) James Allison, Jr.. James Allison, Sr. died in 1801 and is buried at Bethel Presbyterian Church in Homeworth, Columbiana County, Ohio. Elizabeth remarried Cornelius Sheehan and had more children with him. She died 17 May 1852 , in Calcutta, Columbiana County, Ohio and is buried with Cornelious Sheehan. The physical location of James resting place is unknown.
