Vera M. Appenzeller of Fallsington Pa., died Thursday Dec. 9, 2010, after a short illness.

She was a lifelong resident of Bucks County, born and raised in Fallsington.

As a young woman she was employed at Hunter Manufacturing. Prior to retirement, Vera and her husband were co-owners of the Spring Water Supply Co. for more than 35 years.

In addition to being a wife and mother, she was a businesswoman and community activist.

She was a lifelong member and active in the Morrisville Presbyterian Church. She also was a member of Historic Fallsington, the Delaware Valley Chapter of Deborah Hospital, and Morrisville Senior Citizens.

She was active with the Falls Township High School Alumni, RSVP Area Agency in Doylestown, a past officer and member of the Pennsbury Women's Club, past officer and member of Falls Twp Fire Co 1 Auxiliary, and a past Girl Scout leader for more than 15 years.

Vera was the daughter of the late Nicola Amici and Carmella Giano Amici,

Vera also was preceded in death by her brother, Patsy Amice of Trenton; and sisters, Anita Pratt and Anne Vreeland.

She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Morris S. (Bud) Appenzeller; and five daughters, Joann and James Heilig of Langhorne, Audrey A. Harris of Langhorne Manor, Bonnie and John Beachler of Fairless Hills, Marla and Bob Becker of Seattle Wash., and Laurle Nalbone of Yardley. She also is survived by her brother, Ralph (Scrappy) and Kitty Amice of Langhorne; and five nieces and nephews. She enjoyed her four grandsons, Mark, Danny, Steven, and Zachary; and two granddaughters, Samantha and Carrie; six great-grandsons; and three great-granddaughters.

In celebration of her life, there will be a memorial service at 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 16, at the Morrisville Presbyterian Church Chapel, 771 N. Pennsylvania Ave, Morrisville.
