Charles was born in Seth-Boone County, West Virginia on November 28, 1927 and moved to Elyria in 1955. He was a veteran of the US Army serving during WWII and received the WWII Victory Medal and the Army of Occupational Medal, Japan. He was employed at Ford Motor, Lorain Works in the Paint Department for 30 years, retiring in 1990. He was a member of the VFW, Post 1079, the AmVets Post 32, and the UAW Local 425. He was an avid Cleveland Indians fan.
Mr. Meadows is survived by two sons, Charles A. (Sharon) Meadows of LaGrange and Timothy Meadows of Elyria; four grandchildren, Amanda (Chris) Tuttle, Brian Meadows, Cynthia (Jason) Mahilo and Jessica Meadows; and one great grandchild, Briana Tuttle.
Preceding him in death were his wife, Helen J. Meadows (nee Workman) in 1990; one brother, James Meadows, one sister, Wanda Ody; and his parents, Jennings and Minnie Elizabeth (nee Ferrell) Meadows.
Friends will be received at the Reichlin Roberts Funeral Home, 327 Cleveland Street, Elyria, Ohio on Monday from 4-7 P.M. A graveside service will be held at Pineview Cemetery in Orgas, West Virginia with full military honors on Tuesday, July 17, 2012 at 2:00 P.M.
