Rex Andersen
WEST POINT Rex Nelson Andersen, 20, passed away Tuesday, November 9, 2010 at the University Hospital in Salt Lake City from complications of Cystic Fibrosis while waiting for a double lung and liver transplant.

He was born May 24, 1990 in Ogden, Utah to Ralph Nelson and Carol Eames Andersen.

Rex graduated from Clearfield High School in 2008 and attended Stevens-Henagar College. He lived in West Point, Utah his entire life.

He is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where he was an Elder, Eagle Scout, Home Teacher and Ward Missionary. He was honorably released from full time Missionary service. Rex was a member of the DECA Club, Aranda's Olympic Tae-Kwando, ASA fast pitch umpire, and the Elite Welders of Clearfield High.

He was the first Make-A-Wish Ambassador to Utah ATV Association Ride-For-Life. He won two 2nd place awards at the Utah State DECA competition in marketing research and attended DECA Nationals twice. He was an outstanding outdoorsman.

Many thanks and gratitude to Doctors, nurses and staff at the University of Utah Medical Center, Primary Children's, CF Clinics, Respiratory Therapists, Barnes-Jewish Hospital/Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri, and the Bonneville High Community of Laker to Laker.

He is survived by his parents, Ralph and Carol, brother James Andersen, grandparents Ralph and Margaret Andersen, Sarah Eames, many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Bill Eames.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 13, 2010 at 1 p.m. at the West Point Stake Center, 550 North 2300 West, West Point, Utah. A viewing will be held at the Church Friday, November 12, 2010 from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. prior to services.

Interment, West Point Cemetery.
