On Saturday, August 31, 2013 our loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend passed away after an extended illness.

Albert Thomas Burgess was born on October 9, 1948 in St. George, Utah, son of Albert Taylor and Reba Nelson Burgess. He began his Military service in the Army in 1967. He served his country in the Vietnam War, where he helped build panel bridges for troops to cross. He later transferred to the Army Reserves where he completed more than 20 years of service. He also worked at DLA Distribution at Hill, Utah where he rebuilt and refurbished modular units that can be used by our war fighters to create deployable hospitals in the field.

Tom married Lynnette Jones on August 20, 1969 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Later they had two wonderful sons, Justin T. Burgess and Bryan L. Burgess.

He was a man of honesty, and a man of few words. He enjoyed spending time with his family and his grandkids, Amber and Matthew. He found great joy in listening to music, traveling around the country and watching sporting events.

Tom is survived by his wife, Lynnette; son, Justin T. (Heather) Burgess: grandchildren, Amber and Matthew; son, Bryan L. Burgess; and two brothers and two sisters, Jim (La Ray) Burgess, Scott (Sara) Burgess, Ilene (John) Boyd, and Marilyn (David) Coty.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, September 10, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist's Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd, where military honors will be accorded. Friends may visit with family on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Lindquist's Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.

In lieu of flowers send donations to the American Cancer Society.
