Alvin Day owned a 365 acre cranberry marsh in LaGrange township Monroe county. One of the biggest of its kind and the area. Alvin would sale 1000 barrels of cranberrys at the eastern market. He devoted his life to cranberry culture. Alvin had been a clerk of the school board in the town of LaGrange for twenty years.He was a member of the woodmen of the world.
His first wife was Bertha Bahling. They married 1892 Bertha died the next year 1893. There was no children from this marriage.
His second wife was Catherine Desburg.They were married in 1898. They had six boys together. Catherine was born 1877 and Died in 1911. Their children were
