Jakie M. Anderson, 72

CHURCH HILL - Jakie M. Anderson, 72, of 439 Christians Bend Road, passed away Sunday (January 26, 2003) at the Church Hill Health Care and Rehab Center following an extended illness.

Mr. Anderson was a native of Eidson, Tennessee but had spent most of his adult life in Church Hill. He was a member of McPheeters Bend Baptist Church and was a retired employee of Holston Defense. He was a member of Clay Masonic Lodge # 386, Knoxville Consistory of Scottish Rite Masons and Jericho Shrine Temple. He was a veteran of the US Airforce, Korean Conflict, and was a member of the Kingsport VFW Post # 3382 and the Local IBEW Union.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John M. and Beatrice Chalfast Anderson, three brothers, John Clayton Anderson, Hubert Anderson and Ted Anderson.

He is survived by his wife, Eula Haun Anderson, Church Hill; one son and daughter-in-law, Mitchel and Regina Anderson; four grandchildren, Emily Anderson, Heather Anderson, Joshua Vaughn and Steven Arnold; three sisters, Emily Vaughn and Dorothy Vaughn both of Kingsport; Edith Vicars, Johnson City.

Calling hours are from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Johnson Funeral Home and anytime at the residence.

Services will be conducted Monday at 8:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Farrell Brown and the Rev. Mark Roberts officiating, a Masonic Memorial service conducted by Clay Lodge # 386 will follow the funeral service.

Graveside services with military honors conducted by the Kingsport VFW Post # 3382 will be conducted Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at McPheeters Bend Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Wayne Barrett, Mark Taylor, Ray Vaughn, Raliegh Vicars, Hugh Anderson, Don Anderson.

Honorary bearers will be Jim Haun, Paul Haun and Ralph Jones.
