Mrs. Ada "Marguerite" McEvoy 84, of Independence, died Tuesday Sept. 4, 2001, at Independence Regional Health Center. Mrs. McEvoy was born Sept. 7, 1916, in Okmulgee, Oklahoma. She was active in her Neighborhood Council, was a member of the Independence Regional Auxiliary, and was a volunteer at the Nearly New shop for many years. She attended Blue Springs Restoration Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack McEvoy in 1976. Her survivors include her niece Ada Ruth Brunson, and a nephew, william C. Walker, both of Independence. A Great Niece, Tammy Deatherage: great nephews, David W. Brunson, Kenneth A. Brunson and Bryan Walker, four great great nephews, Aaron, Michael, Jeromy and Mathew Brunson. 2 great great nieces Amanda Deatherage and Christy Walker. Services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday at the George C. Carson and sons in Independence Chapel. Burial will be in Mound Grove Cemetery. Friends may call from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday at the chapel.
