Leander Adams-In May of 1875, Leander Adams, was born in Pleasant Plains, Jefferson Township, Huntington County. He was the son of Aaron and Rebecca Adams. He married Oca M. King in 1915, both were the youngest of 12 children.
Their first born daughter, Minnie Margaret, March 1916, died at birth. Shortly after they moved to Austin, IN. In April of 1921, they had their second child, Esther May. When Esther was two years old, Oca longed to return to Marion. In 1929, Leander bought the house and 17 acres at R.R. 1 Warren in Pleasant Plains where he had lived when he was 16. The small family farmed, raised chickens, hogs and milked cows.

They had three children: Harold Gene, Mary Louise, and William M. Her children went to the same school she attended, Jefferson Center, until Huntington county consolidated and the old school was torn down. They then graduated from Huntington High School.
The oldest son, Harold, met Rita Rae Ruse and married in February of 1972. They had two daughters, Stephenie Lin born March 1973 and Paula Lee born March 1975. Harold was killed in a motorcycle accident in 1978. Rita still lives in the same Buckeye community where she and Harold had their home.
Their daughter, Mary Louise, married Jessie R. Gressley of Lagro and they had two children, Tony Robert born in November of 1974 and Dawn m. born in July of 1976. They live in Lagro.
