CLAWSON, GARRETT B.—Garrett B. Clawson died at his home in Bennett township seven miles west of Geneva at 5;30 p. m. September 7, 1924, aged 78 years and 11 months.
Garret B. Clawson was born in Indiana and moved to Illinois with his parents when a young man. He moved to Nebraska in the spring of 1872 and homesteaded in Bennett township where he resided until his death.
Mr. Clawson was married to Miss Martha Conner January 15, 1871. Four sons and a daughter were born to this union: Ira J. of Curtis, Neb., W. B. of Grafton, Neb., Mrs. Ed Dowd of Dunning, Neb., and N. A. and J. L. of Grafton.
Other relatives left to mourn his departure are one brother, Abraham Clawson of Zale, Okla.; one sister, Mrs. J. W. Penfild of Denver, Col. His wife preceded him to the better land October 10, 1922. He also leaves to mourn his death eleven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, besides a host of loving friends and neighbors.
Mr. Clawson has been blind many years, hut his friends always found him cheerful and of good heart. His two sons N. A. and J. L. remained at the home with him.
The funeral took place from the family home at 2:30 p. m. Tuesday, and was conducted by Rev. R. H. Thompson of Geneva. Interment was in the Geneva cemetery.
